Former President Donald Trump stated this past weekend that his Moscow-drafted peace plan constituted "not my final offer", after intense backlash from Ukraine's officials and analysts that compared it to a Munich pact of 1938 involving Chamberlain and Adolf Hitler.

During brief comments from the White House, Trump informed journalists: Our goal is to achieve peace. It should’ve happened a long time ago … we’re trying to get it ended, one way or the other it must be resolved."

Forthcoming Switzerland Negotiations Include Multiple Nations

Ukrainian and American officials are scheduled to meet in Switzerland this Sunday to discuss this proposal. Security officials from Germany, France, and the UK are expected to join the talks there.

Ahead of these discussions, US senators informed the press that Secretary of State Marco Rubio contacted them while en route to Switzerland for clarification on the details of this disclosed proposal. Belgium's ex-PM, Verhofstadt, referenced a statement by Churchill of an appeaser as someone who accommodates an aggressor. He added: "Trump now takes Putin’s side. Europe faces a choice between compromise and principles. A critical juncture for the European Union."
