Salah Issues Statement to Squad, Discloses Curtis Jones

The Liverpool midfielder has shared that the Egyptian forward apologised to the entire Liverpool squad in the wake of the fallout from his recent interview.

The Fallout

Salah was left out from a European match following criticising the club and claiming his rapport with Arne Slot had soured.

“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” the midfielder said. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘If my words hurt anyone, I apologise.’”

The head coach has chosen not to reveal on whether he got an explanation from the veteran striker.

Moving Forward

He emphasized that the squad's reaction was unchanged. “He was the exact same Mo, he had a big smile on his face and everybody was exactly the same with him,” he continued.

He also implied that a player's desire to start is less of an issue. “I understand there are specific approaches you can express yourself,” he said. “Yet, should someone be happy to just sit out, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”

Team Form

Liverpool's form have been impressive in the matches since the interview fallout. The player is convinced the outburst were not designed to harm the team.

“If passion has boiled over, it has consistently come from a good place,” Jones concluded. “We’re past that now and we’re building chemistry, performing and starting to win games.”
