Orbital Imagery Indicate Iranian Navy and Atomic Sites Targeted by Joint US and Israeli Strikes.

A series of American and Israeli airstrikes has reportedly eliminated or harmed no fewer than 11 Iranian naval vessels since Saturday, freshly analyzed aerial photos demonstrate, with missile bases and atomic facilities also sustaining hits.

Pictures of the southern Konarak naval base and the Bandar Abbas facility, which is located on the strategic Hormuz Strait and is home to the main command of the Iranian navy, reveal black smoke pouring from multiple ships on Monday and Tuesday.

Maritime Forces Incurred Significant Losses

Included in the targets eliminated was the IRINS Makran, the country's biggest warship which had functioned as a unmanned aerial vehicle platform. Aerial imagery showed thick smoke emanating from the vessel which had been moored at the Bandar Abbas naval base.

Analytical evaluations suggest that at least five vessels at the port were "struck or destroyed". Photos of the southern end of the harbor show plumes ascending from the Makran, while two other vessels seem to be damaged, with one clearly on fire.

Over at the Konarak base, images reveal numerous harmed ships, with intelligence reports identifying strikes against six ships. Pictures from Monday also demonstrate that a number of structures at the installation have been demolished.

"For many years the Iran's leadership has harassed international shipping," an American commander said. "At present, there is not one vessel from Iran underway in the Persian Gulf, Hormuz Strait or Gulf of Oman, and we will continue."

Some ships allegedly destroyed may have been obscured in aerial photos by haze or plumes, or targeted offshore, and have not been independently verified. Other accounts suggested that an Iranian vessel was going down off the coast of Sri Lanka's territorial waters, prompting a search and rescue mission.

Rocket Bases and Atomic Locations Targeted

The destruction of Iranian missile bases and the prevention of enrichment activities were listed as additional aims of the offensive. Satellite images also depicted damage at the southerly Khorgu base and north-western Tabriz missile missile bases, and at the Konarak air base, where missile storage facilities and bunkers were struck.

At the Choqa Balk-e drone base west of the city of Kermanshah, extensive damage was observed to storage buildings, bunkers and unmanned aircraft systems.

Destruction was also noted at a radar installation at the Zahedan airbase in eastern parts of the country, close to the border with Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Significantly, the new round of attacks have reportedly targeted sites at the Natanz complex – long said to be at the center of Iran's atomic program. A global monitoring agency stated that the damaged structures were used for entry to the facility's underground enrichment facility and that "no radiological consequence" was expected.

Broader Consequences and Assessment

Military analysts indicated that the strikes appeared to have "largely neutralized" the Iranian navy's capability to carry out conventional attacks using its largest vessels. However, it was noted that Tehran still has the ability to launch unconventional attacks at sea through the use of unmanned aerial vehicles, small submarines and its so-called "clandestine network" of oil ships.

The full extent of the destruction caused to Iranian military infrastructure has yet to be fully assessed, with hostilities said to be continuing. Imagery also reveals extensive damage to the headquarters of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in the city of Tehran.

A significant number of public facilities also are reported to have been hit in the capital city and throughout the country after the fighting escalated. Casualty figures from inside Iran suggest that a high number of civilians may have been fatally injured in the bombardment.

As the situation develops, review of aerial photographs will continue to track the changing scope of damage.
